- Choose a one-word topic to write your poem about. This should be a noun (person, place, thing, idea). Write it on the first line.
- For the second line, write two adjectives that describe your noun.
- On the third line, write three verbs (action words) that relate to your topic.
- On the fourth line, write a four-word descriptive phrase about your topic; this is a good place to describe an emotional reaction to your topic.
