Cinquain Poem

Directions:

  1. Choose a one-word topic to write your poem about. This should be a noun (person, place, thing, idea). Write it on the first line.
  2. For the second line, write two adjectives that describe your noun.
  3. On the third line, write three verbs (action words) that relate to your topic.
  4. On the fourth line, write a four-word descriptive phrase about your topic; this is a good place to describe an emotional reaction to your topic.
  5. On the last line, write a one-word synonym for your topic.

Sample Cinquain:

Joseph
delightful, exuberant
climbs, crouches, cuddles
love my terrific two-year-old
