Colonization Brochure

Directions:

Create a brochure to advertise one of the three regions (New England, Middle Colonies, Southern Colonies) during the colonial period of the 13 original colonies.  Use your social studies textbook (mostly chapters 6, 7, 8), encyclopedias and other print resources, or online research to find the information you need.  Remember that you want to attract people to settle in your colony, so focus on its good points!

This is a STUDENT project.  Adults may help you a little bit to locate or understand research information, but the student is responsible for putting the information in their own words*, designing the brochure’s content and graphics, and putting it all together.  If you choose to type (rather than hand-write) your text, the STUDENT must be the typist.

*See English section of this site for information concerning plagiarism and how to avoid it!*
