Project: Explorer Poster
Relating Concepts:
- Explorer's full name, written largely, as the poster title
- Map of explorer's country of origin, route(s), and area(s) explored
- Picture of the type of ship used by your explorer
- Caption* naming the type of ship, and giving additional information about the ship
- List of the supplies your explorer needed
- Picture of your explorer
- One to three sentences as a caption* telling about your explorer's birth, the country he worked for, and his death (include dates if known)
- Actual or possible quotation from your explorer that is unique to your explorer
- Paragraph (5-7 sentences) describing your explorer's reasons (goals) for exploring, where he explored, and how or why his discoveries and explorations were and are important
Background Research:
- List all the sources you used to find this information
- Place picture source information below each picture's caption
Poster Appearance:
- Poster is neat (not sloppy-looking)
- Poster's lettering is large enough to read from a distance of 5 feet away
- All words are spelled correctly
- Partners' names are on the front of the poster
- Poster is well-organized
- Poster is interesting to look at
Cooperative Work:
- I showed respect and support for fellow team members.
- I listened to my partner's ideas.
- I did my share of the work.
