Alien Visit

Directions:

Write a friendly letter to an alien, inviting him/her/it to visit you for the summer.

Use correct friendly letter format!

For your address, use your "long address" from your street out to "the universe"

Pick a name for your alien.

In the first paragraph, invite the alien to visit you and describe some of the activities he, she, or it might enjoy with you this summer.

In the second paragraph, tell the weather and atmospheric conditions that your alien friend should expect when he, she, or it visits.  Remember, Earth is unique and your alien needs to know what to prepare for! Be specific and give factual information about Earth. Avoid personal opinions such as, "It will be hot."

In the third paragraph, give your alien "flying directions" to get to your house.  Describe what our galaxy looks like, which planet is Earth in our solar system, how to recognize the correct continent, where your state is located on that continent, and what your house looks like from above so he, she, or it will know where to land.  You might even suggest what location would be a good landing spot, so your mom's flowers and your dad's car aren't disturbed.

Be creative, and show what you have learned about astronomy.
