"Seeing God in Hindsight"
- Read Exodus 33 (all), then re-read Exodus 33:17-23 and write a 3-sentence summary of that part in your spiral.
- Discuss & reflect – In some cases, we are not able to see God’s presence while God is active and helping us through a difficulty, but later we can search and see God’s hand in that experience. (read the “Footprints” poem)
- Write a short essay (2/3 to 1 page in length) in your spiral. Include:
- Explain a difficult time in your life – describe it in detail.
- Were you aware of God’s presence during the struggle? Explain why or why not.
- In looking back now, can you see God’s presence in any aspect of that experience, such as circumstances, people, your own transformation? Explain.
- What can you do to become more aware of God’s presence when times are difficult?
